HOW SHALL I TEACH THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST IN A FOREIGN CULTURE?
Answer:
1. When the children of Israel first went into strange and foreign lands as Slaves, they posed a question to the LORD God Almighty saying: How shall we sing the LORD’S song in a strange land? Let us consider the following verses to confirm our doctrine:
i. Psalm 137:1 (KJV) By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.
ii. Psalm 137:2 (KJV) We hanged our harps upon the willows in the
midst thereof.
iii. Psalm 137:3 (KJV) For there they that carried us away captive
required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth,
saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.
iv. Psalm 137:4 (KJV) How shall we sing the LORD’S song in a
strange land?
2. Christians and Ministers of the Gospel of the LORD Jesus Christ have the same question today, but fortunately with the New Testament, we have an answer!
3. This was the command that the LORD Jesus Christ gave us:
i. Matthew 28:18 (KJV) And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
ii. Matthew 28:19 (KJV) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
iii. Matthew 28:20 (KJV) Teaching them to observe all things
whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always,
even unto the end of the world. Amen.
4. Now, the physical reality of the whole world or all nations as the LORD Jesus Christ mentioned in Matthew 28:19 (KJV) is that, there are different cultures and religious belief systems.
5. So, what shall I do when the LORD has sent me to a strange land and place where they have a different culture that does NOT accept the Gospel of the LORD Jesus Christ, or that hates the LORD Jesus Christ, and that rejects the Word of God the Holy Bible?
6. What shall I do and how shall I do the work of the LORD Jesus Christ in that situation?
7. In that situation of cultural and religious intolerance, then you need a methodology to obey Matthew 28:18-20 (KJV)! Here is the methodology:
8. Change your mode of delivery and your strategy of speaking!
i. Mark 9:38 (KJV) And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw
one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we
forbad him, because he followeth not us.
ii. Mark 9:39 (KJV) But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no
man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
9. Use their own accepted and revered Authors through whom Holy Spirit has spoken before, to minister to them the Gospel of the LORD Jesus Christ!
i. Acts 17:28 (KJV) For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also
his offspring.
10. Train one of their own and send him to speak what you intended to speak to them!
i. Mark 5:1 (KJV) And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.
ii. Mark 5:15 (KJV) And they come to Jesus, and see him that was
possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed,
and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
iii. Mark 5:16 (KJV) And they that saw it told them how it befell to
him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the
swine.
iv. Mark 5:17 (KJV) And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts.
v. Mark 5:18 (KJV) And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.
vi. Mark 5:19 (KJV) Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto
him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.
vii. Mark 5:20 (KJV) And he departed, and began to publish in
Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did
marvel.
11. Let them see you as becoming part of their culture and they will accept you, and then you introduce the Gospel of the LORD Jesus Christ to them using their own culture, such as their own Holy Books!
i. 1 Corinthians 9:19 (KJV) For though I be free from all men, yet
have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.
ii. 1 Corinthians 9:20 (KJV) And unto the Jews I became as a Jew,
that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under
the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
iii. 1 Corinthians 9:21 (KJV) To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
iv. 1 Corinthians 9:22 (KJV) To the weak became I as weak, that I
might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might
by all means save some.
v. 1 Corinthians 9:23 (KJV) And this I do for the gospel’s sake, that
I might be partaker thereof with you.
12. For example, when it comes to Muslims and their Qur’an, here is the methodology that you need to adopt! Use the methodology of Apostle Paul in Acts 17:28 (KJV) and in 1 Corinthians 9:19-23 (KJV)!
13. In other words, give lectures on the Qur’an to educate ignorant Muslims and Islamic Scholars on the contents of their own Holy Book that they fail to read, study, and understand.
14. Teach the Qur’an to educate ignorant Muslims and Islamic Scholars on all the good things that their own Holy Book has said about the LORD Jesus Christ.
15. Teach the Qur’an to educate ignorant Muslims and Islamic Scholars that their own Holy Books teach more about the LORD Jesus Christ than about their Mohammed who is mentioned only 4 times in the entire Qur’an, as opposed to about 40 times of the LORD Jesus Christ in the entire Qur’an.
16. Teach the Qur’an to educate ignorant Muslims and Islamic Scholars that a Muslim is NOT a Muslim without believing and obeying the LORD Yeshua the Messiah, and this is according to their own Holy Book the Qur’an.
17. Teach the Qur’an to educate ignorant Muslims and Islamic Scholars that their own Holy Book says that ONLY the LORD Jesus Christ was able to keep HIS Islam, meaning that, according to the Qur’an’s definition of Islam, ONLY the LORD Yeshua the Christ, NOT Mohammad, qualifies as the True Muslim, NOT
Mohammad because Mohammad sinned many times and asked for forgiveness whereas the LORD Jesus Christ was sinless from Heaven according their own Qur’an.
18. Teach the Qur’an to educate ignorant Muslims and Islamic Scholars that their own Holy Book the Qur’an says very clearly in Sura 3:55, that the LORD Yeshua the Christ and they that follow Jesus Christ, are superior to all religions and all human beings!
i. Sura 3:55. Behold! Allah said: “O Jesus! I will take thee and raise thee to Myself and clear thee [of the falsehoods] of those who blaspheme; I will make those who follow thee superior to those who reject faith, to the Day of Resurrection: Then shall ye all return unto me, and I will judge between you of the matters wherein ye dispute.
19. Teach the Qur’an to educate ignorant Muslims and Islamic Scholars that their own Holy Book the Qur’an identifies the LORD Yeshua the Christ, NOT Mohamad, as the ONE who will admit humans into Heaven on the Day of Judgment!
20. Just as Apostle Paul used their own Poets of the unbelievers to teach them about the LORD Jesus Christ, you also adopt the same methodology and use their own Qur’an to tell them about the Ten unique attributes of Jesus Christ in the Qur’an!
21. Use their own Qur’an to show them that the Qur’an actually teaches that Jesus Christ is God!
22. Point it out to the Muslims that their own Qur’an itself has evidence that the Arabic Qur’an is not original but a mere translation from other sacred books!
23. After that, use the Holy Bible to teach them about Muslims in Heaven and the Bible Commentary on Isaiah Chapter 19.
24. Show them how Simon the Canaanite, from a place that is known to be Muslim, became a Disciple of Jesus Christ.
25. Show them how Naaman’s Salvation can be repeated for Muslims in cultures that hate Jesus Christ and Christians!
26. Show them how Biblical analyses in Isaiah chapter 60 reveal that Ishmael and the Muslim descendants of Ishmael shall be saved and have been saved already!
